Police are probing two separate discoveries of firearms and ammunition made on Sunday during incidents in Regions Six and Four.

In the first case, ranks in Regional Division #6 recovered a suspected 9mm pistol after responding to a four-vehicle collision along the Cumberland Public Road, East Canje Berbice. Acting on information received at the scene, Police conducted searches in the surrounding area and found the firearm with a magazine containing three live matching rounds.

Meanwhile, in Regional Division #4 ‘B’, Police uncovered another suspected 9mm pistol during an intelligence-led operation at Mocha/Arcadia on the East Bank of Demerara. Ranks observed an abandoned structure and conducted checks nearby, where they discovered a black plastic bag containing the firearm along with five live matching rounds.
