Deputy Solicitor General Ms. Shoshanna V. Lall was formally honoured with the WeLead Outstanding Woman of Excellence Award at the Second Annual WeLead Women Who Lead Gala and Women in Business Awards, held at the Jaigobin Hotel in Anna Regina on Saturday, December 13th, 2025.
The Outstanding Woman of Excellence Award is WeLead’s highest distinction, recognizing a woman whose leadership, service, and national impact exemplify excellence and set her apart as a role model for women and girls across Guyana.
Ms. Lall was selected for her distinguished career in law, governance, and public service, as well as her widely recognized contributions to human rights, public policy, and national development. Her service on national bodies, including her work on child protection and governance frameworks, reflects a deep commitment to justice, integrity, and nation-building. Through her professional excellence and principled leadership, she continues to inspire women to pursue leadership with purpose and courage.

The awards ceremony formed part of the WeLead Association’s ongoing mission to promote women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and community development across Guyana, with particular emphasis on creating platforms that recognise excellence and inspire future generations of women leaders.
In addition to Ms. Lall’s honour, several outstanding women from Region Two were also celebrated for their exceptional achievements across sectors:
· Businesswoman of the Year : Ms. Falisha Hakh, Founder of Body Haven, recognized for outstanding business growth, leadership, and commitment to fostering female entrepreneurship.
· Leadership Award: Ms. Savina Sukhnandan, Founder of Lily’s Organics, honoured for transformational leadership and community impact.
· Excellence in Innovation & Technology Award : Ms. Michellina Richmond, Centaur Holdings, recognized for breaking barriers and pioneering innovative solutions.
· Excellence in Agroprocessing Award: Ms. Rosamund Benn, Pomeroon Rose Products, celebrated for innovation, sustainability, and strengthening local economies.
· Junior Entrepreneur of the Year: Ms. Aissa Dass, recognized as an emerging young leader under 21 whose entrepreneurial spirit inspires the next generation.
· President’s Award: Ms. Munirah Reedon and Ms. Esther Riedrkou, honoured for exemplary dedication, professional achievement, and service to the business community.
The awards were selected through an independent judging process, reflecting WeLead’s commitment to transparency, merit, and excellence.
