President pledges G$100,000 cash grant for all adults in 2026 budget, with more planned over five years

President Irfaan Ali Wednesday night said his government will provide for a cash grant of $100,000 for every citizen aged 18 and older in the 2026 national budget and there will be additional cash grants thoughout his five-year term in office.

This pledge expands direct financial support to households as part of promises made in the ruling party’s 2025 manifesto.

In a national announcement at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, President Ali said the grant will be included in Budget 2026, which is expected to be presented early in the new year.

He added that additional cash grants will be rolled out over the next five years, signaling continuous direct transfers to citizens.
