President of the Guyana Football Federation, Wayne Forde, has concluded a productive week of high-level meetings with the FIFA Administration in Doha, Qatar, further strengthening the strong and longstanding working relationship between the GFF and FIFA.
Throughout the week, President Forde engaged with FIFA leadership on several key areas critical to the continued growth of football in Guyana.
Discussions focused on ongoing and future football infrastructure projects, grassroots development initiatives, the advancement of men’s and women’s competitions, as well as club licensing, governance, and compliance frameworks that are essential to building a sustainable football ecosystem.
These meetings also served to align strategic priorities between the GFF and FIFA, reinforcing a shared mission to grow and develop football at every level across Guyana.
Such alignment is vital to ensuring that development efforts are impactful, coordinated, and centered on the long-term interests of players, clubs, and communities.
A major highlight of the visit was President Forde’s participation in the inaugural meeting of the FIFA Men’s Competitions Committee.
Recently appointed to this prestigious committee, President Forde will serve until 2029, representing Guyana and the Caribbean at the highest level of global football governance.
These engagements bring President Forde’s international assignments for 2025 to a close, underscoring the GFF’s continued commitment to collaboration, strategic planning, and delivering meaningful progress for football in Guyana.
