Amar Jones, a 27-year-old driver of One Mile, Wismar, Linden, was gunned down on Tuesday afternoon by a man who later fled the scene.
According to a Police release, Jones was travelling in a motor canter along Half Mile Public Road at around 15:00 hrs when an unidentified man exited another canter and discharged several rounds in his direction before re-entering the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival at the scene, Police ranks observed Jones motionless in the driver’s seat of the motor canter. He was escorted to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead. The body was later taken to G-Jetsco Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
A 24-year-old female from Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was arrested and is currently in custody, assisting with the investigation. A motor vehicle was also seized and is being processed as part of the investigation.
