A 38-year-old gold miner was last Friday stabbed to death during an altercation with another man at a bar in Middle Mazaruni.
Dead is Emanuel Williams, known also known as “Chiny,” of Second Avenue, Bartica.
The incident occurred around 23:30hrs at 14 Mile Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
According to Police Headquarters, investigations revealed that Williams was at the bar during which he and another man had an altercation.
Police said during this incident, Williams was stabbed to his chest.
He was immediately taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination later confirmed that Williams died from perforation to the lung and heart caused by the chest wound.
His body was handed over to his relatives for burial.
Police said efforts are being made to locate the suspect.
