A 19-year-old Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara resident was charged in connection with an alleged cyber offence involving a minor.
Niraj Dhanwantie appeared on Monday at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh.
He was charged with using a computer system to humiliate a person, contrary to Section 19(2)(a) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
The charge alleges that the offence was committed against a 16-year-old student.
When the charge was read in court, Dhanwantie pleaded not guilty.
The case was postponed to February 25, 2026.
