Division 4C thump TSU by 10 wickets, Fudadin slams 94 in COP T20 Cup

Regional Division 4C produced a dominant batting performance to defeat Tactical Services Unit (TSU) by 10 wickets, while former Guyana and West Indies cricketer Assad Fudadin narrowly missed out on a hundred as Regional Division Six outplayed Regional Division Two by 38 runs on Day Three of the Commissioner of Police T20 Cup on Friday.

Playing at the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary, Regional Division 4C, set a target of 162 by TSU, got to the target without losing a wicket and with six overs to spare.

The experienced Kevon Boodie led the victory charge with a blistering 87 not out, which included 10 fours and five sixes, while fellow opener Romy Caleb made an unbeaten 44 (5x4s, 2x6s).

In the other game, the left-handed Fudadin rolled back the years with a fine 94, striking seven fours and four sixes, as Regional Division Six made 156-7. Regional Division Two responded with 118 all out.

The victories have secured Regional Division Six and Regional Division 4C a place in the Super Seven stage, starting March 17.

Defending champions Headquarters and Presidential Guard who won on the opening day, and Regional Division Three and Regional Divisional One, Seven, Eight and Nine Combined, who emerged victorious on Day Two are also through to Super Seven, as well as GPF Officers, who drew the bye in the first round.

The winners of these three matches will join Regional Division Six in the top four, after Region Six secured automatic advancement to that stage during the tournament draw.

Those four teams will then compete against each other in the Super Four stage to determine the final standings. From there, the top two teams will advance directly to the final, while the teams finishing third and fourth will compete for third place.
