The Queen’s College Old Students’ Association (Guyana) (QC-OSA) launched a Special Edition Magazine to commemorate ’50 Years of Girls at Queen’s College (1975-2025) on Monday.
This special edition magazine is part of a series of activities planned by QC-OSA as the college observes the 50th year since the formal admission of girls. Other activities, including an exhibition and panel discussion, were previously held over the weekend of October 16th -19th, 2025.
The college, which was established on August 5th, 1844, as an all-boys school, continued to so stand for more than 130 years of its now 180 years plus history, until girls were formally admitted on September 15th, 1975.
The magazine memorializes this event and highlights the accomplishments of alumnae in contributing to the extraordinary record of Queen’s College.
The magazine can be accessed online at QC-OSA’s website, www.qc-osaguyana.com/publications
Hard copies will also be available at the Alumni Room, Queen’s College, from Tuesday 7th April, 2026, free of cost, while supplies last.
The association extends a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who contributed to bringing this magazine to fruition, particularly those who submitted articles, information, and sponsored its publication. Special acknowledgment is also extended to alumnus Ajay Baksh and his team at Perception Inc. for the donation of their exceptional work in the layout of the magazine and the tireless commitment of alumna Ms. Pauline Chase.
