A 25-year-old Sophia resident, Linden Benjamin, has pleaded guilty to the brutal murder of his girlfriend, 31-year-old Lisa Lucille George, who was stabbed 25 times during a violent attack in April 2023.
Benjamin appeared before Justice Priscilla Chandra-Haniff at the High Court on Monday and admitted to the capital offence. He will be sentenced on October 27.
George’s teenage son told the court he awoke to his mother’s screams — “I gone dead, I gone dead” — and saw Benjamin attacking her with two knives. Relatives rushed to the scene but were too late to save her.
A post-mortem revealed George suffered 25 stab wounds, one of which pierced her chest cavity and severed her aorta, causing fatal blood loss.
Benjamin was arrested at the scene and later charged with murder. He is represented by attorney Beulah Williams.
