Guyana’s first eFootball squad set for FIFAe World Cup Qualifiers

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has made history by officially launching its first-ever national esports squad. Two players will represent the country in the FIFA World Cup™ 2025 Regional Qualifiers.

Christian Harris and Ronaldo Sobers, the winners and runner-up of the inaugural GFF eSports League—Mobile 1v1 Division, were officially presented with their jerseys by GFF General Secretary Pushpargha Chattopadhyay.

The ceremony marked a significant moment for the country’s burgeoning mobile esports scene.

Harris and Sobers will now carry the Golden Arrowhead banner into the regional qualifiers, where they will compete for a chance to secure a coveted spot at the FIFAe World Cup™ 2025 in Riyadh this December.

The GFF has stated its commitment to developing esports as a new frontier for football, creating fresh opportunities for Guyanese talent to shine on the world stage.

This milestone marks the beginning of Guyana’s formal entry into the competitive world of mobile esports.
