GuyExpo, Guyana’s premier business and trade exhibition, was officially launched on Monday evening with organisers promising an expanded platform for entrepreneurs, manufacturers and service providers to connect with local and international markets.
The 2025 edition, set for 13–16 November at the National Exhibition Centre in Sophia, will be staged under the theme “Transformation through Entrepreneurship and Innovation.” It also marks the 30th anniversary of the event, with longstanding businesses that have grown alongside the expo set to be honoured.
Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister Susan Rodrigues, delivering her first address with ministerial oversight of the event, described GuyExpo as both a legacy and a living platform that must evolve with the country’s rapidly changing economy.

“The vision is not only to sustain the legacy but to reimagine and elevate this national showcase, ensuring that it remains relevant to the dynamism of the economy while preserving its core identity,” she said, crediting her predecessors, including President Dr Irfaan Ali and former minister Oneidge Walrond, for their roles in shaping the expo.
Among this year’s features will be a striking centrepiece in the form of a bread basket, symbolising Guyana’s reputation as the “bread basket of the Caribbean.” For the first time, a dedicated space will also be introduced for businesses and investors to hold high-level discussions on collaboration and expansion.
With Guyana recording sustained double-digit growth in its non-oil economy, Rodrigues underscored the importance of GuyExpo as a timely vehicle for connecting small, micro and large businesses with national, regional and global markets. To this end, the Ministry is working closely with the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association (GMSA) and GoInvest to ensure maximum participation and to enhance the business-to-business networking element.

Rodrigues also announced that the physical layout of the exhibition will be revamped, with improvements to traditional attractions such as the food courts, children’s area, and tourism village. Entertainment will remain a key feature, showcasing the creativity and cultural richness of Guyanese artists.
“GuyExpo is unmatched in terms of exposure. It offers a rare platform to showcase products and services not only to local consumers but to international partners and investors,” Rodrigues stressed, encouraging private sector players to seize the opportunity.
This year’s milestone edition is expected to be one of the largest, with more exhibitors, sponsors and visitors anticipated as the country’s business landscape continues to diversify beyond oil and gas.
