An autopsy has confirmed that Sudesh Singh, a 15-year-old resident of Stewartville, West Coast Demerara, died from a chop wound.
Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh conducted the post-mortem examination with dissection at the Ezekiel Funeral Home on the body of Singh on Monday morning. On completion, Dr. Singh gave the cause of death as an “incised wound.”
The teenager was reportedly chopped by his 50-year-old stepfather on Friday. Police had reported that
The teen and his stepfather had a misunderstanding over the man’s bicycle, which the teen had used, and caused the chain to slip. As a result, an argument ensued between them, and the stepfather reportedly ran into his kitchen, picked up a cutlass, rushed towards Singh, and chopped him. This caused the teen to receive injuries to his neck, and he fell to the ground.
The stepfather then walked out of the yard and went to the Leonora Police Station, where he reported the matter. He was arrested and placed into custody pending further investigation.
