Guyanese cyclists off to Caribbean Elite Championship in Belize

A team of Guyanese cyclists is off to the 2025 Caribbean Elite Championship, set for October 9-13 in Belize City, Belize.

The Guyana Cycling Federation has announced “talented cyclists” for the sojourn, namely Aaron Newton (KFC Evolution Cycling Club), Paul DeNobrega (Continental Cycling Club), Briton John (We Stand United Cycling Club), Raynauth Jeffrey (Unattached) and Johann Burrowes (We Stand United Cycling Club).

The Alternate is Mario Washington of We Stand United Cycling Club, with Suzanna Taylor of We Stand United Cycling Club competing in the female category.

“These talented cyclists have demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill and consistent performance in the sport of cycling,” the Guyana Cycling Federation said in a release.

“Their selection is a testament of their hard work and commitment, and we are confident they will represent Guyana with distinction on the Caribbean stage.”

The Caribbean Elite Championship will feature young cyclists from across the region competing in the Time Trial and Road Race. This competition not only highlights the athletic prowess of the participants, but also promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship among the elites of the Caribbean.
