The Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has received a written message from President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali focusing on enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation.
The message was received by Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, during a meeting with Safraaz Ahmad Shadood, Ambassador of Guyana to Qatar.
The correspondence underscores the growing partnership between Qatar and Guyana, as both nations seek to deepen diplomatic and economic collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Guyana officially opened an embassy in Qatar in May, 2023 and Qatar also established an embassy in Guyana.
Guyana and Qatar established diplomatic relations in 1996.
