Police in Region Two have arrested a 38-year-old school teacher of Vilvoorden, Essequibo Coast, following an incident at Hack’s Rice Mill on Monday morning.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 08:19 hrs. Investigations revealed that a 31-year-old businessman was in his office at the rice mill when the teacher entered and placed a container with a muddy substance inside.
The teacher allegedly emptied the container and began throwing the mud at the businessman and around the office, causing a scene.
The matter was promptly reported to the Aurora Police Station, where ranks responded and arrested the suspect. Statements were taken from those involved, and the teacher was subsequently placed on $15,000 station bail pending a court appearance.
Police also confirmed that after the arrest, several persons visited the Aurora Police Station, but no additional arrests were made, nor were any further offences reported in connection with the incident.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
