An accident on Friday evening on the Number 62 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, left 16-year-old Jodea Seline dead, three people in critical condition, and 14 others injured.
Police in Regional Division Six reported that the motor minibus BAB 7570, driven by a 31-year-old teacher from Brighton Village, was travelling north with several passengers when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its right side and sustain extensive damage.

Three critically injured patients—the driver, a 13-year-old girl from Brighton Village, and a 16-year-old girl from Cromarty Village—were later referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for specialised care. The remaining passengers remain under observation at the Number 75 Regional Hospital in stable condition.
The body of the deceased is at the Number 75 Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the crash.
