Police in Region Ten are probing a late-night shooting in Amelia’s Ward, Linden, that left two men injured after a gunman opened fire at them from inside a car.
The incident occurred at about 22:30 hrs on Sunday at Lover’s Lane. According to initial investigations, a 32-year-old vendor of Central Amelia’s Ward was standing in front of his shop, while a 36-year-old carpenter of South Amelia’s Ward was walking nearby, when a motor car drove up and stopped close to them. An occupant of the vehicle then allegedly discharged several rounds in their direction before speeding away.
The vendor was shot in the chest, and the carpenter was hit in the foot. Both men were rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex, where they were examined and treated.
The vendor has since been transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for further care, while the carpenter remains at the Linden Hospital Complex. Police said both men are in stable condition.
No arrests have yet been made, and investigations are ongoing.
