The 20th edition of the Diamond Mineral Water Indoor Hockey Festival got underway with six matches at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown on Thursday evening.
In the Open Men’s category, Pepsi Hikers defeated Bounty GCC 11-5 and TTPS prevailed 4-1 over Saints. The two Open Women’s matches saw GBTI GCC defeating Hikers 3-1 and TTPS edging Hot Flashes 3-2.
The lone Over-40 game produced an 8-2 success for GCC The Sequel against OFHC Expendables, while GCC Vintage earned a 6-1 victory over The Legends in the Over-50 Division.
The tournament will continue daily until Sunday when champions will be crowned in the Men’s and Women’s Open and the Over-40 and Over-50 divisions.
