Corriverton man arrested after cocaine found during police stop

Police are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cocaine following an operation on Monday, 1 December 2025, at Scottsburg Public Road, Corriverton.

According to the Guyana Police Force, ranks acted on information received and stopped a motor car at around 18:40 hrs. During a search of the 37-year-old driver, who lives at No. 77 Housing Scheme, Corriverton, police found two transparent plastic bags containing a hard, rock-like creamy substance suspected to be cocaine in the pocket of his trousers.

He was immediately arrested and taken to the Springlands Police Station along with the suspected narcotics. There, the substance was weighed in his presence and amounted to 63.1 grammes.

The suspected cocaine has been lodged as police continue their investigation. The man remains in custody.
