A 42-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Wednesday evening during an alleged argument at Recht Door Zee, West Bank Demerara.
The deceased, Peter Michael Rawlins, a porter from Tucville, Georgetown, sustained a stab wound to his upper right leg around 17:00 hrs. Investigations revealed that he was at the location with a 27-year-old female Special Constable, who lives at the same address and shared a relationship with him, when the incident occurred.
Rawlins was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor while receiving treatment.
The female suspect has been arrested and remains in custody, assisting police with ongoing investigations.
The body of the deceased is currently at Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
