A farmer and a housewife were arrested Police found 102.1 grammes of cocaine at a grocery store on Friday night in Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
According to a Police release, ranks went to the store acting on information received. There, the Officers met a 39-year-old farmer, a 37-year-old housewife; a search was then conducted at the location in the presence of the duo. A quantity of whitish rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine was found in a plastic bag.
Both individuals were arrested and escorted to the Parika Police Station, where the suspected substance was weighed in their presence and amounted to 102.1 grammes.
The suspected cocaine was lodged, and both individuals were placed into custody as investigations continue.
