Road Warriors down Bent Street ‘A’ to lift President’s Futsal title

Brazil’s Road Warriors secured the President’s Cup Futsal championship, coordinated by Kashif and Shanghai Organisation,  on Friday, defeating local side Bent Street ‘A’ 13-6 in a high-scoring final at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

The victory earned the Brazilian outfit a G$3 million winner’s purse after a clinical offensive performance that overwhelmed the domestic runners-up.

Road Warriors’ Erlison Cadete opened the scoring in the seventh minute, though Bent Street ‘A’ equalised shortly after through Colin Nelson.

The contest remained competitive until the midpoint of the match, with Bent Street trailing 4-3 following goals from Bevney McGarrel and Tyler Lyle.

However, the Brazilian side executed a decisive surge, scoring six goals in three minutes.

Daniel Da Silva completed a hat-trick during the blitz, while Arckson Dos Santos and Dionathas Pereira added to the tally to extend the lead to 10-3. Bent Street A were unable to recover from the deficit despite late goals.

Road Warriors’ Matheus Henrique was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and Highest Goal Scorer, finishing the campaign with 19 goals. Cadete was awarded Best Goalkeeper.

In the women’s final, the Lady Kanaimas defended their title convincingly, triumphing 4-0 over the Lady Royals. Sandra Johnson opened the scoring early, with goal machine Glendy Lewis netting a hat-trick to solidify their dominance.
