The Ministry of Tourism, Industry, & Commerce, and the Guyana Tourism Authority, unequivocally condemn the recent attack on international visitor Antony D’Oliveira, host of the Jumps Travel Documentary YouTube channel.
Such acts of violence are wholly unacceptable and run contrary to the values of hospitality, safety, and respect for which Guyana and its people are known.
The safety and well-being of all visitors and residents remain a top priority. We reaffirm our commitment to working closely with law enforcement agencies, tourism stakeholders, and local communities to ensure that Guyana remains a destination where all feel secure and respected.
In this regard, we call on the Guyana Police Force to conduct a thorough and expeditious investigation into this matter and to take all necessary steps to apprehend the individual responsible, in accordance with the law.
We extend our sincere concern and best wishes to Mr. D’Oliveira and trust that this matter will be addressed with the seriousness and urgency it warrants.
