The Guyana Police Force has commenced investigations into an alleged attack involving international visitor Mr. Antony D’Oliveira, host of the Jumps Travel Documentary YouTube channel.
The incident which was captured on video and is currently in circulation, is being treated with seriousness by the police. Acts of violence against any individual are unacceptable and are contrary to the laws of Guyana and the values of safety, hospitality and respect upheld by the society.
Investigators are actively reviewing the video footage, conducting enquiries and pursuing all available leads with the aim of identifying and apprehending the individual responsible, in accordance with the law.
The Guyana Police Force extends sincere concern to Mr. D’Oliveira and reiterates its commitment to ensuring that Guyana remains a safe and welcoming destination for all visitors and residents. Persons with information that may assist the investigation are encouraged to contact the nearest police station.
