Press Release from the Guyana Football Federation
The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Refereeing Department, in collaboration with the Guyana Football Referees Council (GFRC), proudly congratulates Guyana’s match officials who have been appointed to the FIFA International Match Officials List for 2026.
This achievement marks another significant milestone in the continued growth and development of refereeing in Guyanese football.
For 2026, six Guyanese match officials have earned selection to the prestigious FIFA List.
Returning officials include referee Shavin Greene; assistant referees Kleon Lindey and Brandon Cyrus; female assistant referee Denisha Isaacs; and futsal referee Colin Abel.
Joining the list for the first time is female referee Kenisha Prescott, whose inclusion further highlights Guyana’s expanding footprint on the international refereeing stage.
Ms. Prescott’s promotion comes as no surprise to those who have followed her development, which has been exemplary.
In 2023, she participated in the CFU Girls’ Challenge Series, where she was appointed Fourth Official for the Tier 2 Final.
In 2024, she was selected for the CONCACAF Referee Academy in Toluca, Mexico, and later took part in the CONCACAF Academy Consolidation Course in August 2024, successfully completing the programme.
Her strong performances earned her further international assignments, including:
- CONCACAF Under-15 Girls’ Championship- Fourth Official for the third Place Match
- CFU Under-14 Boys’ Championship
- CONCACAF Under-17 Women’s Championship First Round Qualifiers
- CFU Under-14 Girls’ Challenge Series 2025
Kenisha Prescott continues to demonstrate remarkable progress and professionalism. Her involvement in both regional and developmental programs underscores her readiness for the international arena.
Denisha Isaacs returns to the FIFA International List for a fourth consecutive year, having first received her international badge in 2023. Her impressive 2025 campaign included officiating several international matches, including a CONCACAF Friendly Series fixture in December.
This assignment marked Ms. Isaacs’ first senior men’s international appointment at any level, further highlighting her continued excellence and reliability on the international stage.
Referee Shavin Greene also returns for his fourth year on the FIFA International List and was promoted to a CONCACAF Tier 2 Referee, placing him just two tiers away from achieving CONCACAF Elite Referee status.
He remains Guyana’s only male international referee. Mr. Greene’s outstanding year featured appointments to a FIFA World Cup Qualifier, the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup Final, and a CONCACAF Friendly Series match- an exceptional achievement that reflects his consistency and elite performance.
Assistant referee Kleon Lindey celebrates his twelfth year on the FIFA International List, a testament to his longevity, professionalism, and sustained contribution to international football.
Brandon Cyrus, meanwhile, enjoyed a highly successful debut year, officiating several international fixtures and firmly establishing himself among CONCACAF’s trusted officials.
Futsal referee Colin Abel, who has been on the FIFA International List since 2023, continued his upward trajectory in 2025.
He officiated at the CONCACAF Women’s Futsal World Cup Qualifiers, overseeing multiple matches, including the semif-inals, further elevating Guyana’s presence in international futsal officiating.
The Head of the GFF Refereeing Department extended heartfelt congratulations to all appointed officials, commending their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence.
He noted that the increased representation of Guyanese officials on the FIFA International Match Officials List is a source of national pride and a clear indicator of the positive strides being made in referee development.
He encouraged the officials to continue striving for excellence as they proudly represent Guyana on the world stage.
