Police on Sunday discovered the body of an unidentified female in a trench between Barbie Dam and Lamaha Springs, Georgetown.
According to a police report, the woman of mixed ancestry is beloved to be between 40 and 50 years old.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the body was found floating face down in the trench at about 10:00h with several visible marks.
Emergency Medical Technicians were summoned and the body was removed from the trench and escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting identification and a post-mortem examination.
Several persons were contacted and questioned. Investigations are ongoing.
