Police are investigating the discovery of 513 grams of suspected cannabis found on the southern side of the New Amsterdam Prison on Monday afternoon.
The discovery was made at about 15:10 hrs after a prison officer, acting on information received, searched the area and found leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Police were subsequently summoned and the suspected narcotics were handed over and escorted to the Central Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to 513 grams.
The suspected cannabis has since been lodged pending further investigations.
