Prince Bagot, a 61-year-old businessman, was arrested on Thursday after he was found with 912 grammes of cannabis and 11 grammes of ecstasy.
The Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU), revealed that officers carried out an operation at the businessman’s residence at Lot 108 David Rose Street, Bagotville, West Bank Demerara.
A subsequent search of the residence revealed a quantity of cannabis and ecstasy.
On Friday, Bagot appeared at the Wales Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted $150,000 bail. The matter has been adjourned until February 17, 2026.
