28-y-o man fatally shot in Albouystown

Kevon Ridley, a 28-year-old labourer of Albouystown, Georgetown, was fatally shot on Thursday evening by a man who has not yet been identified.

Police Headquarters reported that the fatal shooting happened around 18:00 hrs.

Based on investigations, an unidentified male individual allegedly discharged several rounds in the area, resulting in Ridley receiving fatal injuries. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead.

Two other persons were also injured during the incident. A 30-year-old male vendor of Albouystown sustained a gunshot injury to his back and is presently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, while a 43-year-old spray painter of Lust-en-Rust, West Bank Demerara, received a gunshot injury to his shoulder and is receiving treatment at a private medical facility. Both are reported to be in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

Police said they are continuing efforts to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident, and an update will be provided as the investigation progresses.
