Trevor Daniels, a motorcyclist of Kairuni, Soesdyke-Linden Highway died on Saturday after he reportedly collided with a motorcar at Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
Police Headquarters reported that the car, PXX 5812, was being driven by a female of Central Amelia’s Ward.
According to reports, Daniels was proceeding east along the northern side of Amelia’s Ward Public Road, allegedly at a fast rate of speed, when the motor car reportedly drove out from a northern parking lot onto the public road and collided with the front portion of the motorcycle.
As a result of the collision, Daniels fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries. He was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was admitted in a serious condition.
He subsequently succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at about 17:30hrs while receiving medical treatment.
A breathalyzer test conducted on the driver of the motor car returned a reading of 0%.
Investigations are ongoing.
