Police in Regional Division 4 ‘A’ are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body found on Monday at about 11:40 hrs, at a residence located at ‘C’ Field, South Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown.
In a release, Police said the dead person has been identified as Ronald Gobin, 78, a pensioner.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the man, who lived alone at South Turkeyen, was found in a state of decomposition inside his apartment after a report was made to the Police.
The body was later pronounced dead by a doctor on duty from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, after which it was escorted to Memorial Funeral Parlour, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
