Led by a superb hat-trick from forward Osaze De Rosario, Guyana’s Golden Jaguars defeated Belize 3-1 in the Concacaf Friendly Series on Monday afternoon in Group B action in the Dominican Republic.
De Rosario opened the scoring in the second minute and added two more goals- in the 22nd and 90th minutes- as the Jaguars continued their impressive run in the Friendly Series.
De Rosario was also the star performer for Guyana against Dominica on Friday last, scoring both goals (8th and 33rd minutes) in the 2-0 victory.
This latest victory means the Golden Jaguars have remained unbeaten under the guidance of Head Coach Thomas Dooley, previously winning 2-1 against Bonaire and 4-1 against Antigua and Barbuda.
The Concacaf Friendly Series was designed to provide high-level competitive minutes for Member Associations that are no longer participating in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers.
Reacting to the latest victory, President of the Guyana Football Federation Wayne Forde extended “heartfelt congratulations to Coach Dooley, the staff, players, and our dedicated team at the GFF Secretariat on the outstanding achievement of the Guyana Golden Jaguars.”
“Your impressive 3-1 victory over Belize in the final match of the inaugural Concacaf Series is a testament to your commitment, discipline, and collective spirit. Completing the two FIFA windows with a perfect record is no small feat and reflects the hard work and unity across every level of the National Team programme.”
Forde added: “This accomplishment has generated valuable momentum as we now look ahead with confidence to the Concacaf Nations League in September. The standard you have set bodes well for the challenges to come.
