Calvin Ming has been officially reinstated as the winner of the Briggs and Stratton Light class at the MPS Kart Revival, following a successful appeal that overturned a controversial technical disqualification.
Ming originally crossed the line first during Sunday’s final, but the celebrations were short-lived when post-race scrutineering flagged a violation regarding clearance tolerances on his kart.
The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) launched an investigation after Ming’s camp filed an immediate appeal.
The club’s findings, released today, confirmed that the discrepancy was down to “circumstances outside the competitor and the technical team.”
“The GMR&SC reminds all competitors of their rights to appeal any decision, technical or otherwise.”
With the penalty quashed, the podium reflects the raw pace seen on track. Steven Nobrega reverts to second place, while Jared Ramnarayan completes the top three. (Modified GMR&SC Press Release)
