In a victory speech on Saturday night, following the formal declaration of the results by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), the President-elect pledged to lead inclusively, ensuring no community or citizen is excluded from development.
Dr Ali’s remarks also came after a recount exercise was completed for votes cast in sections of Regions Four and Five before the final declaration.
“This is a victory that does not exclude anyone; every community, every citizen matters and every dream deserves a chance to flourish. Whether you voted for the PPP/C or not, you are first and foremost a citizen of Guyana, in our Guyana, no one is left behind under the PPP/C,” Dr Ali stated.
He hailed the outcome as a triumph not only for the PPP/C but for the entire country, noting that the results reaffirm the strength of Guyana’s democracy.
“Now that the results are known, I extend my profound appreciation to the supporters of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic. Dr Ali commended citizens for exercising their franchise peacefully and with respect for one another’s choices. He further expressed gratitude for the patience of electors during the wait for the final results and applauded the Disciplined Services for maintaining order and safeguarding the integrity of the elections.

“From the moment the polls were opened to the final declaration, you, the people of this proud nation, showed the world that democracy in Guyana is alive, robust, and vibrant.”
Addressing supporters of the PPP/C, President Ali said the party’s victory was a vindication of its record over the past five years.
“The result is the electorate’s declaration that trust and confidence rest on us to lead Guyana to a future of shared prosperity,” President Ali said.
However, the President underscored that this victory goes beyond party lines.
“This is not just a triumph of our party but of an entire people determined to move forward together,” he affirmed.
